Bangkok, Thailand – June 20–21, 2026 – The RESILIA Summit 2026, organized by Edwards, was successfully held at the Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai, Bangkok, bringing together approximately 200 physicians from across the Asia-Pacific region, along with Edwards representatives and cardiovascular specialists from leading hospitals.
The scientific meeting provided an opportunity for healthcare professionals to learn about the latest advances in heart valve treatment and exchange clinical experience and evidence related to Edwards’ RESILIA tissue technology.
One of the key highlights of the summit was the presentation of 10-year follow-up data from the COMMENCE clinical trial, providing important evidence on the long-term durability and clinical performance of RESILIA tissue.
As the need for heart valve treatment continues to grow and earlier intervention becomes increasingly important, the COMMENCE trial provides valuable long-term evidence supporting the performance of RESILIA in the treatment of patients with aortic stenosis.
After 10 years of follow-up, patients treated with Edwards surgical valves featuring RESILIA tissue demonstrated positive outcomes:
- 97.9% of patients remained free from valve-related death or stroke.
- 97.8% remained free from reoperation due to Structural Valve Deterioration (SVD).
- 98.6% remained free from structural paravalvular leak (PVL).
- Hemodynamic performance remained stable over time, including mean transvalvular gradient and effective orifice area, demonstrating sustained valve performance.
Long-term valve durability is an important consideration in reducing the potential need for repeat intervention or reoperation and in supporting patients’ long-term quality of life.
