Two leading global corporations in the field of heart valves – Edwards Lifesciences and Medtronic (USA) – recognize the Interventional Cardiology Center of Tam Anh Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City as an independent center performing TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) according to international standards.
After being certified by Medtronic as an independent center performing TAVI with the EVOLUT FX valve system, the center was further certified by Edwards Lifesciences as an independent TAVI center with the SAPIEN 3 valve – a valve recommended in international treatment guidelines (ESC/EACTS 2021, ACC/AHA 2020).

Two consecutive certifications from two leading global TAVI brands have made the Interventional Cardiology Center at Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City one of the few centers in Vietnam to simultaneously achieve independent certification from both Edwards and Medtronic – a testament to its autonomy, safety, and standardized cardiovascular intervention procedures at an international level.
Two prestigious certifications from Edwards Lifesciences and Medtronic not only affirm the outstanding professional capabilities of Vietnamese doctors, but also mark an international milestone, enabling patients in Vietnam to access world-leading advanced heart valve replacement techniques right here in Vietnam – at a reasonable cost and meeting international standards.
To achieve these two prestigious certifications, the Interventional Cardiology Center of Tam Anh General Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City underwent an independent evaluation process, conducted directly by international experts from both Edwards Lifesciences and Medtronic, with a rigorous system of criteria:

Professor Markus Kasel (Proctor of Edwards Lifesciences) evaluated the entire TAVI procedure with the SAPIEN 3 valve, from planning to implementation.
Professor Ganesh Manoharan (Global Proctor of Medtronic) supervised and validated the TAVI procedure with the EVOLUT FX valve, including autonomy and team coordination.
Both experts conducted a comprehensive professional evaluation, which included:
- Selecting patients suitable for the indication and anatomical characteristics
- Anatomical and valve annulus reconstruction, selecting the correct valve size
- Precise interventional procedure, synchronized team coordination, and ensuring maximum safety
